Make the viral strawberry bark with layers of sliced strawberries, peanut butter, and melted chocolate. It’s such a fun and delicious snack to keep in the freezer!
I love anything peanut butter and chocolate so when I saw the the viral strawberry bark recipe via Faith’s Fresh on TikTok, I knew I needed to try it!
This bark starts with a base layer of sliced strawberries. You top them with a layer of peanut butter and then a final layer of chocolate. It reminds me of chocolate covered strawberries but with a nutty twist and the flavor is sooo good.
Ingredients Needed
- strawberries – the fruit we’re using in this recipe.
- peanut butter – this is a key ingredient to get that peanut butter chocolate flavor combo. Just be sure to get a natural peanut butter that is drippy so it will be easy to spread. I’ve been using the Trader Joe’s brand lately, but Crazy Richard’s is another great option.
- chocolate chips – I like using dark chocolate chips, but feel free to use what ever you have on hand.
- coconut oil – this is just to thin the chocolate mixture so it’s easier to spread.
- flaky sea salt – I love adding a little flakey sea salt to my chocolate desserts for extra flavor, but this is optional!
How to Make Strawberry Bark
Step 1: Line a baking sheet with parchment and arrange strawberry slices into a rectangle shape.
Step 2: Spread peanut butter over strawberries. Freeze for 20 minutes.
Step 3: Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave.
Step 4: Drizzle melted chocolate over the peanut butter. Sprinkle with sea salt. Freeze again until set, about 20-30 minutes.
Step 5: Cut or break the bark into pieces. Enjoy immediately or store in the freezer.
Brittany’s Tips
- Be sure to use a natural drippy peanut butter. If your peanut butter is thick, you may need to microwave it for 10-15 seconds to thin it out so it’s easier to spread.
- You’ll want to work quickly to spread the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer. Because the peanut butter layer will be cold, the chocolate will harden quite fast and make it hard to spread and the sea salt won’t stick once it’s hard either.
Substitutions & Notes
- Make it nut-free: To make this bark nut-free, simple use sunflower seed butter or skip the peanut butter all together and just do strawberries and chocolate.
- Lower in sugar: As I mentioned above, I like using low sugar chocolate chips for this treat. I like Lily’s dark chocolate chips or Hu Kitchen’s no sugar added chocolate chips.
How to Store
This chocolate peanut butter strawberry bark should be stored in an air-tight container in the freezer. It should stay good for a month, but it definitely didn’t last that long over here.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Strawberry Bark
Ingredients
- 12 strawberries, thinly sliced
- ยผ cup natural peanut butter
- ยฝ cup chocolate chips, I used Lily's dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper. Add strawberry slices to the parchment in rows to make a rectangle shape. You want to make sure all your strawberry slices are touching.
- Use a spoon to spread peanut butter over the strawberry slices to make a peanut butter layer. Pop the baking sheet into the freezer for about 20 minutes to let the strawberries and peanut butter harden a bit.
- Place chocolate chips and the coconut oil into a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each. It shouldn't take longer than 1-2 minutes total.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over top of the peanut butter and work quickly to use chocolate into a thin layer. Sprinkle on the flaky sea salt and place back in the freezer until chocolate has set, about 20 minutes or so.
- Remove from the freezer, break or cut into pieces and enjoy! Store any leftover bark in the freezer for up to a month.

Very tasty but extreme messy to eat. Despite the mess Iโd still make it again.

Is there anything you can recommend as a substitute for the peanut butter? (For allergy reasons)
You could use any nut or sunbutter you prefer! Enjoy!
