This blueberry frozen yogurt is made with only three simple ingredients! It’s a refreshing and healthy summer treat that’s super easy to whip up.

When it comes to summer desserts I’m all about no-bake and frozen treats that both myself and my kids can enjoy! We love this frozen yogurt bark and chocolate peanut butter banana bites, but lately I’ve been obsessed with this blueberry frozen yogurt.

It’s the perfect refreshing treat to enjoy on hot summer days while we’re hanging out at the pool and it satisfies my ice cream craving (which is in full force during the summer months!).

A few scoops of blueberry frozen yogurt in a small bowl with fresh blueberries inside the bowl.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Protein-Packed – I love my nice cream recipes like this banana ice cream, but lately I’ve been trying to get in more protein throughout my day and this frozen yogurt packs in 11 grams of protein per serving!
  • Easy to Make – Just blend the ingredients together in your food processor and enjoy immediately, or freeze for a firmer texture. No ice cream maker needed!
  • Customizable – Add your favorite toppings like fresh fruit, cacao nibs, nuts or a drizzle of nut butter to make it your own. My go-to toppings are fresh blueberries and sometimes a drizzle of almond butter. The combo is SO good!
  • Kid-Friendly – My kids love this recipe! I usually just serve it to them immediately so it’s not as hard and more like soft serve.

Ingredients Needed

Ingredients measured out to make 3-Ingredient Blueberry Frozen Yogurt: frozen blueberries, Greek yogurt and maple syrup.
  • plain Greek yogurt – can’t have frozen yogurt without the yogurt! I prefer using full-fat, plain Greek yogurt, which is thicker and a bit more rich, but feel free to use 2% yogurt or non-fat yogurt if that’s what you have on hand.
  • frozen blueberries – provide natural sweetness and a refreshing burst of flavor.
  • maple syrup – this is totally optional if you want a touch more sweetness. I usually skip this, but you do you!

Recipe Variations

There are tons of ways to get creative with this recipe! Here are some ideas:

  • Chocolate – add in 1/2-1 Tablespoon cacao powder or cocoa powder plus chocolate chips or cacao nibs for a chocolate-y treat!
  • Swap the fruit – swap the blueberries with a different frozen berry of choice like strawberries or raspberries. If you want a different fruit all together try this banana frozen yogurt instead.
  • Nutty – blend in a spoonful of almond butter or peanut butter and drizzle extra on top for a rich, nutty flavor.

How to Make Blueberry Frozen Yogurt

This recipe couldn’t be any easier to make! It’s ready in just 5 minutes.

Frozen blueberries, yogurt, and maple syrup in a food processor.

Step 1: Add all your ingredients to a food processor or high-powered blender.

Step 2: Blend until smooth and enjoy right away! If you want it to be scoopable, you can freeze the mixture for about an hour.

Brittany’s Tip!

Add a layer of parchment paper or wax paper on top of the frozen yogurt when storing it in the freezer to prevent freezer burn.

Topping Ideas

I love serving this frozen yogurt as is or with a few fresh berries, but there are so many different options when it comes to topping ideas. Here’s some to get you started:

  • Fresh berries: Add fresh blueberries, strawberries or raspberries for a nice berry treat.
  • Granola: Sprinkle some granola on top for a bit of crunch.
  • Nuts and seeds: Chopped almonds, walnuts, or chia seeds provide a nice crunch and boost of healthy fats.
  • Coconut flakes: Unsweetened coconut flakes add a tropical touch and additional texture. I also love toasted coconut, which would add a nice flavor.
  • Honey or maple syrup: Drizzle a bit of honey or maple syrup for added sweetness.
  • Nut butter: Sometimes I’ll add a drizzle of almond butter or peanut butter when serving. The combo is so good!
  • Cacao nibs or chocolate chips: For a chocolatey crunch, sprinkle some cacao nibs or chocolate chips on top.

How to Store

Frozen blueberry yogurt can be stored for about one month in a sealed container in the freezer.

When you’re ready to enjoy it again, let it sit out at room temperature for a few minutes to soften up before scooping. It’s as simple as that!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use fresh blueberries instead of frozen?

Yes, you can use fresh blueberries, but the texture will be less firm and more like a smoothie. Frozen blueberries help create a thicker, creamier consistency.

Can I swap the blueberries with a different fruit?

Absolutely! There are so many different flavor variations you can make. You could try frozen peaches, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, mango or pineapple. I could also see the combo of strawberry banana being delicious!

  1. I just made this tonight! I usually try to stay dairy free, but needed some protein for the day. Delicious! Fresh & tasty treat! How do you think it would work with a coconut yogurt or almond milk based yogurt?

    1. Hi Sue – I am happy to hear that you are loving my recipes. Thank you for coming back and sharing your review, I really appreciate it!

  2. what could I use as a substitute for the almond butter? there are nut allergies in my family. thanks!!

  3. 5 stars
I haven’t made the recipe but I gave it 5 stars for being so easy to make due to the amount of ingredients but I would like to ask a question and hope you’ll be able to answer this question. I’m making this to use with my Ninja Creami Deluxe and you basically just mix the ingredients together into a pint container that comes with the Creami Deluxe then freeze it for 24 hrs and then place it into the Creami Deluxe where a paddle is used to scrape then bland and creamify (if that’s a word, lol) it into a nice soft serve Froyo. I however use a sugar free blueberry flavoring from Lorann’s flavorings and fresh blueberries. Do you think this recipe work with the flavoring and the fresh blueberries?

    1. Sure. I havenโ€™t tried this flavoring, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I hope you enjoy this recipe!
