Make a single serving baked oatmeal in your air fryer with this simple air fryer baked oats recipe. It’s packed with over 25 grams of protein and super easy to make. Just blend, air fry and enjoy!

Have you ever tried baking oats in an air fryer? I hadn’t until I stumbled across an Instagram post that piqued my interest. The concept of air-fried baked oats sounded so intriguing that I had to create my own recipe. The result was a warm, fluffy, and slightly crisped treat that’s perfect for breakfast. It’s fast, easy, and a great way to enjoy oats with minimal fuss.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Healthier Alternative โ€“ The air fryer uses less oil, resulting in a lighter version of baked oats without sacrificing flavor.
  • Customizable โ€“ You can adjust the recipe to suit your tasteโ€”add different spices, nut butters, or even chocolate chunks for a sweet treat.
  • High in Protein โ€“ The addition of vanilla protein powder gives these baked oats a protein boost.
Ingredients measured out to make Air Fryer Baked Oats: rolled oats, cinnamon, vanilla protein powder, vanilla, almond milk, peanut butter, Lily's chocolate and baking powder.

Ingredients Needed

  • rolled oats – the main base, providing fiber and a hearty texture. My fave brand is Bobโ€™s Red Mill gluten free old fashioned rolled oats.
  • unsweetened almond milk – I used unsweetened almond milk, but any non-dairy milk will work.
  • vanilla protein powder – for this recipe I used the vanilla Warrior blend by Sun Warrior, but feel free to use your favorite brand of protein powder. Nuzest is also one of my favorite brands. Itโ€™s plant-based and has a minimal, clean ingredient list. Plus, the chocolate flavor is delish. You can use my code eatingbirdfood for 15% off your order.
  • baking powder – helps the oats rise for a light and fluffy texture.
  • cinnamon – adds warmth and a hint of spice.
  • vanilla extract – gives a sweet, aromatic flavor.
  • peanut butter or almond butter – adds some more protein and great flavor to this baked oatmeal. Feel free to use your favorite nut or seed butter.
  • chopped chocolate – optional, for a sweet touch.

How to Store

This recipe is best enjoyed right away, but if you make too much you could store any leftover baked oats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or air fryer before serving.

  1. I just wonder at what point you add the chocolate listed in the recipe? Not sure if Iโ€™m missing it, but there isnโ€™t a step. Do you top it with chopped chocolate before putting in air fryer or mix it in? Thanks.

    1. Hi Carla! The chocolate goes in right after pouring the mixture into the ramekin, before placing it in the air fryer. Iโ€™ll update the recipe card to include that step, thanks for letting me know!
